Notice of works at Heron Way Car Park w/c October 14th
Balderton Parish Council
Next week, our contractor will be installing three poles which will have power to them for 2 lamps and a CCTV camera. In 2023 we were awarded funding for this work as part of the government’s Safer Streets 5 programme. Our council is working in partnership with Nottinghamshire Police and Newark and Sherwood District Council[1] to help tackle antisocial behaviour and wildlife crime in the area.
We have taken care to ensure that the lights selected meet the requirements set out in guidance that the Institute of Lighting professionals provide: Guidance Note 8 Bats and Artificial Lighting. We have also taken advice from N&SDC's ecologist on this. The lights that will be installed mitigate backwards light pollution onto the surrounding environment and residential properties.
The installation of the lamp heads and CCTV camera will be in future months as they are currently on order. Next week only the poles are being installed.
From Monday 14th October to Friday 18th October, the car park may be closed and the driveways of the homes at the edge of the carpark may be affected for short periods of time.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Should you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Council office.
